This complex also contains the B vitamin cofactor choline, to help with optimal absorption. The active form of folate, L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate (L-5-MTHF), is included to help support an immediate metabolic response compared to synthetic folic acid, the form commonly found in other supplements. L-5-MTHF is especially useful for supporting neurological system requirements as it is the only form of folate that crosses the blood-brain barrier.
